AN EDUCATION

First official film review of 2010, and definitely a good one to start with. Golden Globes are tomorrow night (January 17th) and the Oscar's are just a few months shy away. AN EDUCATION is not on the Globes Best Picture list, but I would not be surprised if it grace the Oscar's list (at least it should).

I did not know to much about this one except for the trailer I saw for it a while back while attending a film at the Shattuck Cinemas in Berkeley, and the thing that spoke out to me first was the definitely the young and new face of Carey Mulligan. She made her presence in a few UK films and television, but not a whole lot in the United States. She is definitely a very good actress and I am rooting for her come Oscar time.

.........

So I started writing this review prior to the Golden Globes and Oscars, and never got around to finish because of work. But I just wanted to say that this movie was very well done, and I'm very excited for the career of Carey Mulligan; she didn't win the Oscar but she has so potential to some day win it. So best of luck to her, and say YAY to this well done movie. It was a little depressing at times and seemed very unrealistic, but it didn't completely ruin it.

In the End, I'd give this one 8/10
